Continuing the investigation into the recent seizure of amphetamine, Narcotics Control Bureau has further seized the narcotic drug worth Rs 2.5 crore and busted a 'drug lab' in neighbouring Secunderabad.
The clandestine drugs manufacturing and processing lab was located in a 'posh defence locality', it said in a release. NCB seized about 9.1 kg of amphetamine from there.
"Value of the drugs seized is about Rs 2.5 crore in India and about Rs 9 crore in international market," an NCB official said.
The lab was set up in the kitchen of a house, rented by Air Force Wing Commander G Rajshekhar Reddy, one of the accused arrested earlier this month.
Hyderabad NCB team dismantled the laboratory in a day- long operation on October 26 and the materials recovered were produced before a local court in L B Nagar yesterday.
Further investigation was on to find out involvement of other persons and if the accused had any other lab or processing facilities for the drug, the NCB official added.
