Purushartha had been appointed as a special executive magistrate by the state government to inquire into the Amritsar train incident.

The statements were recorded as a part of the magisterial probe into the train tragedy.

The divisional commissioner also issued a fresh appeal Thursday, asking eyewitnesses or others having any information about the train accident to get their statements recorded with him.

Purushartha, meanwhile, also visited the accident spot along with senior police officers including Deputy Commissioner of Police Amrik Singh Powar and Deputy Commissioner Kamaljeet Singh Sangha.
