"Imposition of emergency in 1975 by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi was first instance of jungle raj in the country ... RJD supremo Lalu Prasad imitated Congress in implementing jungle raj -2 in Bihar and now he in collusion with Nitish Kumar and Congress are dreaming about ushering in 'jungle raj -3' in the state by aiming to win the upcoming assembly polls," he said.
"The war has not ended. One such battle was fought against an individual ... Now the time has come to finish off the man who changes character at the drop of hat," the Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister said in a hard hitting attack on the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The Union Minister also berated Kumar for paying tributes to the legendary socialist leader Jai Prakash Narayan (JP) at every anniversary of Emergency, which was imposed by Indira Gandhi exactly 40 years ago, and going on to join forces with the same party against whom JP had led a nationwide agitation after the imposition.
Ananth Kumar, senior BJP leader who is the party's in-charge for assembly polls, sought to nail the Bihar chief minister for practising politics of opportunism saying that the Centre expected him not to play politics with its decision to construct memorial at JP's native village Sitab Diara in Saran district.
"I hope Nitish Kumar will not play politics with the Centre's decision to build a memorial for JP at his native village," he said adding Bihar government should provide land and all other cooperation for the construction of the memorial where people from across the country could come to pay their tribute.
