"A Rs 550-crore budget proposal has been sent to the Centre to install 5,500 CCTV cameras under Hyderabad and Cyberabad Commissionerate limits. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has also written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about it," the AP police chief told reporters on the sidelines of a function here today.
"It is in the pipeline and will happen in next three months," he said.
However, he said that controlling terror through CCTVs is not the only solution.
"We are working on other policing methods. Lot of mock drills are being carried out, counter-intelligence has been further activated and we are working on different directions," Reddy added.
