The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to conduct the entrance test for engineering and other professional courses on May 10, an official said here today.
AP State Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao told reporters in Visakhapatnam that the Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) would be conducted on May 10.
Rao alleged that the Telangana government acted "unilaterally" on the conduct of the test and announced its own date of May 14 for the exam.
The announcement by the AP government came after a protracted row between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the issue.
Both the states failed to reach an agreement on conducting a common test.
