Narasimhan is the common governor for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which was carved out in year 2014.
"The Andhra Pradesh government's idea is to convert the state into a knowledge hub. The (divided) Andhra Pradesh has made a good progress in the education sector during the last 43 months. Higher education is very important to turn the state into a knowledge hub," he said.
"Andhra Pradesh will turn into a centre of excellence with the support of the government. The government is giving top priority to education, particularly higher education, and is strengthening educational institutions including varsities by providing the best infrastructure and necessary grants," he said.
He said all varsities in Andhra Pradesh have introduced the incubation centres to generate new ideas for students.
