The 33-year-old American comedian, who is the brains behind the show's star-studded digital short movies, has confirmed that he will be following Kristen Wiig, who gave her final SNL appearance during May 12 season finale, reported Femalefirst.
"It's an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it's not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back... (It was) one of the hardest decisions I've ever made," he said.
Samberg has been on the show for seven seasons and is best remembered for his comedy video with Justin Timberlake.
