Ankit Chauhan murder: 2 more arrested with arms

The special task force (STF) today arrested two members of a gang for their alleged involvement in the murder of techie Ankit Chauhan in 2015 here, taking the number of those arrested in the case to four.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF of the Uttar Pradesh police arrested Satyapal alias Satte and Pawan Sharma, members of Anil Dujana gang, police officials said.
One revolver, one pistol, five live cartridges and two cars were seized from their possession, they said.
The STF and the CBI had solved the murder of techie Ankit Chauhan two days ago and during investigation it was revealed that Satyapal was involved in Chauhan's murder, officials said.
UP STF IG Amitabh Yash had said the culprits wanted to loot Ankit's car but could not do so as a crowd had gathered on hearing the gun shot. 27-year-old software engineer Ankit was shot dead on April 13, 2015.
Satyapal told the STF that on April 13, 2015 alongwith one Pankaj he had killed Chauhan during the car robbery, the officials said.

Satyapal was working as a recovery agent for a private bank where he came in contact with Pankaj and later they started committing robberies, they said.
On the basis of information provided by Satyapal and Pawan, the police have recovered a car.
Satyapal and Pankaj used to provide the robbed cars to liquor smugglers and criminals' gangs.
In a separate case, the Noida police has arrested seven persons for allegedly looting people by offering them lift.
Two motorcycles and 12 mobile phones were recovered from them, the police said.
The arrested accused were identified as Dhiraj, Lucky, Dev, Aakash, Navil, Sahil and Vijay.
In another case, the police have arrested a drug peddler, Kallu, and recovered 1200 gm ganja from him. Two liquor smugglers were also arrested from different area and 48 quarters of liquor were recovered from them, they said.
Two more liquor persons were arrested separately in Noida with total 64 quarters of liquor, the police added.
