Tiwari, considered to be a loyalist of Union minister Harish Rawat, staged a sit-in in Almora town.
"I will continue my hunger strike till my demands are met," the MLA from Almora said.
Tiwari alleged several surgeons and physicians had been transferred from different government hospitals in Almora and their posts were lying vacant.
The MLA's strike came a day after Kunwar Pranav Singh "Champion" held a protest yesterday at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
Champion, also a wrestler, demanded that he should made Sports minister in place of Dinesh Agarwal who, he alleged, had no knowledge of sports.
On previous occasions, Education minister Mantri Prasad Naithani held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar demanding early completion of 330-MW Srinagar hydel project.
Harish Dhami, a Congress MLA from Dharchula, had sported a black badge around his arm to protest what, he alleged, Chief Minsiter Vijay Bahuguna's indifferent attitude towards his constituency.

Uttarakhand BJP chief B S Chufal demanded resignation of the Chief Minister saying Bahuguna had lost confidence of his own party MLAs.
"The Chief Minister who does not enjoy the confidence of his party MLAs has no right to continue in office," he said.
