However, the region had a dry and clear day in the morning though strong winds lashed the mid and higher hills and sky was overcast in the afternoon.
The local MeT office has predicted rains or snow in higher hills over the next three days and rains and snow at isolated places in mid and lower hills over next two days.
The minimum temperatures dropped to minus 6.3 degrees in Keylong, minus 3.4 degrees in Kalpa and minus 1.2 degrees in Manali while Shimla and Solan recorded a low of 3.3 degrees and 3.4 degrees respectively, followed by Bhuntar 4. 0 degrees, Palampur 5.0 degrees, Sundernagar 5.1 degrees, Una and Dharamsala 6.7 degrees and Nahan 9.5 degrees.
The rain deficit from January 1 to February 10 has increased to 71 per cent and the region received average rainfall of 34.9 mm against normal rainfall of 120.4 mm which did not augur well for winter crops.
