Normal life in the state capital was affected today due to the dawn-to-dusk bandh called by All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU).
There was, however, no report of any untoward incident from any part of the town, Additional Superintendent of Police D P Dutta told PTI.
ANSU had called the bandh demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the May 26 gruesome murder of a civil engineering student here.
The union also demanded immediate appointment of an independent Home Minister and status report on the attack on a woman journalist here last year.
Chief Minister Nabam Tuki currently holds the Home portfolio.
All business establishments, educational and financial institutions remained closed during the day and commercial, private and public vehicles remained off road.
Only a few state transport buses were seen plying with escorts.
