Eight months after software professional Antara Das was stabbed to death near her office, the police today announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for any information regarding the crime.
Though police had arrested Das' friend Santosh Kumar Gupta from Bengaluru in connection with the crime, they are yet to trace the person who stabbed the 23-year-old near Kanbay Chowk on the outskirts of the city on December 23.
Das was working with Capgemini.
As the police couldn't file the chargesheet against Gupta within the stipulated period of 90 days in the absence of any conclusive evidence, a local court granted him bail in March this year.
Police had told the court that Gupta was stalking and harassing Das and had allegedly hatched a conspiracy to kill her after she spurned him.
"We are probing the case from multiple angles. Even though Gupta was arrested, we did not get much details from him, so we are now investigating other angles too," said a crime branch official.

He said the police have announced the reward in order to get some clues in the case.
"The reward is for any person who can share the information regarding the crime," he said.
Meanwhile, Gupta's lawyer Anup Pande said the declaration of the reward shows that his client is innocent.
"Police could not prove my client's role in the murder and hence failed to file the chargesheet against him within 90 days. Since they could not prove his role, now they have declared a reward, which shows that Gupta is innocent," he said.
As per the bail condition, Gupta, who hails from Bihar, was asked to visit the local police station every week.
