Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests Audit Officer

The district audit officer here was today arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe from a person at his office, ACB officials said.
ACB team arrested district audit officer (Incharge) Shyam Pratap Singh while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 4000 from a person, they said.
The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint registered by one Priyaranjan Kumar Mani, a resident of Dimna Road, Mango here with the Jamshedpur Bureau of ACB.
In his complaint, Mani alleged that Singh had been demanding a bribe to move his file in connection with pending arrears of 7th Pay Commission as well as outstanding medical bill.

On verifying the allegation made by Mani, the ACB officials found it to be true and a case was registered against Singh, ACB officials said.
Accordingly, a trap was laid and the ACB arrested Singh while he was accepting the bribe.
