Anti-encroachment drive in rural areas of north Delhi

A demolition drive was carried out by the city government authorities in rural areas in north Delhi, where several allegedly illegaly built structures were removed.
Following orders of district magistrate (north), a team comprising SDM (Narela), Tehsildar and other officials carried out the drive to remove encroachments from government land in village Pehladpur Banger here.
The officials said the SDM of the area, Nitika Pawar, also took back the possession of government land.
The SHO of Shahbad Dairy Police Station was also present at the site with several police personnels for ensuring proper security of the revenue team.
"The demolition drive was planned to remove large-scale encroachment on government land. The structures demolished comprised 4-5 feet boundary walls and a few small rooms.
"The land encroached by the encroachers has been taken back and handed over to the SDM of the area," a release issued by the Delhi government said.
