As many as 200 anti-poaching watchers, attached to the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) near here, today abstained from work demanding wage hike.
The watchers also threatened to go on strike if the government failed to give a positive response by tomorrow, police said.
The watchers said they were being paid Rs. 6,000 as salary for the last few years and this too was paid once in two months or after abnormal delay.
The government should increase their salary and also ensure that they received it in time, they said.
