The 59-year-old actor was set to undergo an operation to remove a cyst in his upper eyelid.
"Thanks to your wishes, surgery postponed because of the infection around the eye," Kher tweeted.
The Padma Shri awardee had earlier taken to Twitter to inform fans about the surgery.
"On my way for a minor 'cyst in the upper eyelid' surgery. Thodi sympathy mil jaye to shayad dard cum ho jayega. Baki aapki marzi (It would be great to have some sympathy, rest is up to you)," he wrote.
