"I never supported the Centre's move to raise prices of petroleum products, fertiliser as also other commodities of daily use and will not support such a bid in future," Banerjee said at a rally at this Birbhum district town.
Banerjee said the farmers were hard hit by fertiliser price hike and she herself had made personal move to the central government to reduce the price.
"We will not allow the Centre to put any more burden on the common man," the Trinamool Congress chief, second largest ally of the ruling UPA government at the Centre, said.
Speaking about her government's efforts to mitigate sufferings of the farming community, she said the government would open 'kisan bazars' (kisan markets) in all the 341 blocks of the state to help farmers get fair price for their produce and free them from the clutches of middlemen.
Banerjee said all kisan bazars -- 14 of them would be in Birbhum district -- would be attached to a cold storage to preserve the unsold produce of the farmers.

The chief minister renewed her charge against the previous CPI(M)-led Left Front government for leaving behind a debt burden of Rs 2.03 lakh crore for her, and slammed the Marxists for sponsoring a transport strike on July 31 "to derive political mileage".
