Andhra Pradesh Minister for Irrigation and Water Resources Management Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao met Union Water Resource Minister Uma Bharati and accused the Telangana Government of violating the order of Krishna River Management Board.
The meeting comes a day after Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao had called on the Union Water Resource Minister, who is also the Chairperson of the Apex Council for Krishna River Management Board, in the wake of dispute between the two states over sharing of water and electricity.
"The present level of the reservoir is 857 feet. The water level would reduce by three TMC for power generation resulting in hindrance to supply drinking water for the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh as the levels will not permit to move water in that direction," he said after meeting Bharati here.
Telangana government's action was a violation of Krishna River Management Board, he added.
Rao also said he would meet Central Water Commission Chairman over the issue.
