AP CM releases senior bureaucrat's book on budget process

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy released 'Budget Handbook', a book written by senior bureaucrat Pushpa Subrahmanyam, here today, who had worked in the Prime Minister's Office earlier.
Presently Principal Secretary (Finance) in the AP state government, Pushpa said that the book explains the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders, standard templates for various steps in the budget process, besides procedures and timelines to be followed for processing budget estimates in the Finance Department.
"The book also incorporates procedures and templates for interface with the office of the Governor and the Legislature in the introduction of demands for grants and passing of the Appropriation Bill. The handbook will serve as a brief of the Budget manual," she said.
Incidentally, Pushpa Subrahmanyam, an IAS officer of the 1985 batch, is in the process of leaving the AP cadre shortly, to take over as Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Textiles and the AP government relieved her from state service today.
