The ITDA will cater to the needs of tribals in four revenue divisions that have been merged into AP from Telanagana after bifurcation.
Chintur will be the seventh ITDA in the state and will cover four divisions, Bhadrachalam (except Bhadrachalam revenue village), Kunavaram, Chintur and Vara Ramachandrapuram, which have now become part of East Godavari district.
These divisions were initially made part of the existing Rampachodavaram ITDA after the merger but with the people facing difficulty in accessing services due to geographical constraints, the state government decided to establish an exclusive ITDA with Chintur as the headquarters, Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations Commissioner Krishna Mohan said.
For the first time since their merger with AP, Naidu will be touring the region tomorrow and interact with the tribals where he will take part in several development programmes and launch welfare schemes in the region.
The Chintur ITDA would cater to the welfare and development needs of the tribal population in the four divisions, he added.
Three other revenue divisions, Velerupadu, Kukkunuru and Burgampahad, that were also merged from Telangana, were brought under K Ramachandrapuram ITDA in West Godavari district.
