Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu today began a day-long tour to Warangal district in Telangana, his first visit since the formation of the new state.

Naidu left for Warangal from here this morning and reached the city in the afternoon.

He is scheduled to address party activists and leaders in Warangal and hold meetings with TDP's constituency-wise incharges till tonight.

Ahead of Naidu's visit, the stage where he is scheduled to address the meeting was partially burnt by unidentified persons in the early hours of the day.

The incident was part of a protest reportedly by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), an outfit that fights for categorisation of SCs.

Naidu's visit to Telangana during the height of separate statehood agitation often turned violent with TRS workers protesting against his alleged ambivalent stance on the separate demand for Telangana state.

The ruling TRS, however, said it had no objection to the AP Chief Minister's visit but wanted Naidu to respond to its claim that he is denying Telangana its rightful share of electricity.
