Besides industrialists Koneru Prasad, N Sunil Reddy and Emaar's top executive G V Vijaya Raghav, suspended IAS officer B P Acharya too recorded his statement in the Emaar-APIIC land scam case.

The recording of statements began on June 24 after ED issued summons against the accused on June 21 in connection with the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) case, the Emaar-APIIC land scam, apart from the disproportionate assets case involving Jagan.

The statements were recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) inside Chanchalguda prison here after the central agency obtained permission from the principal special court for CBI.

The accused are presently under judicial remand in the Chanchalguda jail.

As far as Acharya's role into the Emaar scam is concerned, he was the managing director of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) when the irregularities leading to the dilution of the equity of the state player in a joint venture with Emaar properties were reported.

Acharya was also questioned yesterday in connection with the disproportionate assets case against Jagan by the ED officials.
