Prasadam, a former Maoist state committee leader and state secretary of Amara Veeerula Bandhumitrula Sangham, was shot and stabbed by three men near the government hospital at about 2.30 pm yesterday.
Considered to be close to top Maoist leader Ramakrishna alias RK, Prasadam was released from an Odisha jail in 2011 as a part of the deal struck by government with ultras for the release of Malkangiri (Odisha) Collector R V Krishna.
Before his arrest by Odisha police in November 2010, he was a member of the erstwhile People's War Group.
