The Andhra Pradesh government today issued an order pertaining to waiving of crop and gold loans availed for agricultural purposes, together not exceeding Rs 1.50 lakh per family.
"The crop loans and agriculture gold loans disbursed for crop purposes only, including the loans converted to MTL (medium-term loan) due to calamities, up to 31.12.2013 and outstanding (including interest) as on 31.3.2014 are eligible for coverage under the (waiver) scheme," a government order said here this evening.
In order to ensure that benefits of the scheme reach all eligible families, data is to be collected from banks, which have disbursed the loans, it said.
"The State Government, directly or through notified agencies, will settle the claim received from respective banks and pass on the benefit online to the account of beneficiaries," according to the order.
Since the claims of lending institutions will be processed by the Government on the basis of their audited books of account as on March 31, 2014, it is important that due care is taken while preparing the list of beneficiaries, it added.
