AP govt is encouraging urbanisation, says minister

Urbanisation will help increase the per capita income, Andhra Pradesh Urban Development Minister P Narayana said here today.
He laid the foundation stone for the new building of Machlipatnam Municipality here today.
Only 28 per cent people in Andhra Pradesh live in urban areas, and the Government would give priority to urbanisation which helps increase of per capita income, he said.
A pilot project for solid waste management with latest technology will be launched at Srikakulam, he said.
The minister also announced Rs 2 crore grant to Machilipatnam Municipality for the construction of the new building.
K Narayana Rao, MP, and M Babaprasad, Municipal Chairman, were also present.
