AP govt to bring back pilgrims stranded in U'khand

Andhra Pradesh government today said it would bring back pilgrims from the state, who are reportedly stranded in Uttarakhand due to heavy rains.
State Information Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said here tonight that all pilgrims would be brought back to safety after discussing the matter with the officials of Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi and the Uttarakhand government.
He was responding to reports that pilgrims from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh were stranded in Uttarakhand.
According to a report from Dehradun, 900 persons were today evacuated by choppers from Kedar valley, Hemkund Sahib and Badrinath areas with nearly half a dozen roads and bridges in Chamoli and Rudraprayag districts damaged by first monsoon showers and yatra to the Himalayan shrines severely affected for the second consecutive day.
