Adoption of semester system, choice-based credit system (CBCS) pattern and grading system are some of the reforms being introduced in Andhra Pradesh universities from the 2015-16 academic year for all the undergraduate courses in the state.
Compulsory introduction of communication and soft skills in one semester (to begin with) is another reform being introduced, a state government release said here today.
The reforms have been initiated following Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's directives.
They are backed by an extensive exercise in subject-wise curriculum up-gradation, undertaken by the Boards of Studies (UG level) of all AP state Universities, it said.
The decisions in this regard were taken at a meeting of chairpersons of all Board of Studies (UG level) held at Andhra University in Visakhapatnam today, in which state HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE), Vice Chancellors and other officials were present.
