This exhibition runs till 11th January.
"To protect interests of the weavers the state government runs many handloom exhibitions to promote the handloom textiles," he said.
"About 10 lakh families in the state have to depend on handloom and the state government is committed to protect their interests by providing various welfare schemes and also subsidies to continue their traditional profession," he added.
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Textiles Kollu Ravindra, who was present on the occasion, said that the state government provides 50 per cent electricity subsidy for handloom machines and 20 per cent subsidy on the yarn and colours purchased by the weavers.
