Against the backdrop of tension between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over various issues, a delegation of Andhra ministers will meet the President Pranab Mukherjee, who is here for his customary southern sojourn, and apprise him of "ongoing developments".
"Either tomorrow or day after, we four or five ministers will make appointment with the President, regarding one or two issues and ongoing developments," labour minister K Atchannaidu told reporters after a meeting of AP cabinet chaired by the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today.
"We will submit a memorandum to the President," he said.
Asked if they would raise the demand of implementation of section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act which gives powers to Governor on law and order in Hyderabad, the common capital, he said it was Governor's responsibility to implement a provision which is already there in the Act.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are locked in a bitter war of words in recent times over the cash-for-vote controversy and the allegations of phone tapping against Telangana government by the AP.
The President had yesterday asked both the states to live together in peace, saying one can choose friends but not the neighbours.
