A conference of Communist Party of India (Marxists) for Andhra Pradesh will be held here on February 9-10, party State Secretary P Madhu said today.
CPM Politburo member Sitaram Yechury will inaugurate the conference, Madhu told reporters here.
The conference will discuss various issues related to Andhra Pradesh and would also finalise dates for launching agitation in the state, focusing on failures of the state government and the Centre, he said.
Madhu said the NDA government failed to fulfil the promises made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, particularly, on the announcement of a special package for the state.
He alleged that though, under the Act, setting up of national institutions, railway zones and construction of the new capital have been included, Centre has so far not taken any decision regarding the issues.
He said both Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu have failed to exert pressure on the Centre to pitch for the demands.
