One model Industrial Training Institute (ITI) will be set up in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana each, a Union Minister said here today.
"I will see that one model ITI should come up in each state capital which can impart training to many trainers, who in turn can go into different ITIs and train," Minister of State (independent charge) for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya told reporters.
To begin with, one model ITI will come up in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, he said.
The proposed model ITIs will set standards and benchmarks in imparting training to youths for employment generation, a Labour Department official said.
"We will give priority for girls training. Separate centres will be set up for girls to train them on fashion technology and food processing," the minister said.
These centres will be linked with the employment exchanges, he said adding, "Employment exchanges will not be mere enrollers. They will provide IT-enabled services to small and medium scale industries and to the PSU."
The Minister said the existing ESI dispensary at Bhoiguda here will be upgraded into a 200-bedded hospital.
There are proposals to upgrade ESI hospital in Warangal into 100 beds hospital and also to establish 100 beds hospital each at Pydibhimavaram and at Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
