The Health and Medical Welfare Department in Andhra Pradesh today proposed to introduce key indicators, including cleanliness, attendance, consumable usage and uniform, to rate medical services being provided to the public.
The government is mulling the introduction of a rating or score-card system which will track the performance of health personnel through an online system from May 1, 2015, a release said here.
The online tracking system would also give updates on the medicines prescribed and medicines sold, among others. Continuous updates from hospitals will be available on the website, www.Apmsidcho.Com.
These issues and the sanitation policy for government hospitals to be announced by the state government were discussed at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here.
The chief minister suggested that the health department could have a central monitoring cell through which they can track updates. This will also include seeking feedback from citizens on the services offered.
Naidu asked the health department to outsource sanitary management, including maintenance of toilets, water supply, improvement of drains, electrical wiring or fitting, windows and doors, floors and roof, and beautification works, the release said.
Officials from the Health and Medical Welfare Department informed the Chief Minister that Rs 60 crore has been released to give a face-lift to all government hospitals.
Naidu said that an additional Rs 50 crore-Rs 100 crore could be spent on the upgrading and maintenance of the hospitals, the release added.
