: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy Monday met AICC general secretary (organisation) K Venugopal and requested that his resignation from the post be accepted immediately.
Raghuveera met Venugopal in Bengaluru, the PCC said in a release here.
The former minister tendered his resignation from the PCC chief's post on May 19, citing personal preoccupation in his native village in Anantapuramu district.
"As such, I cannot take active part in party affairs for at least six months.
I will extend all cooperation to whoever is appointed as my successor," Raghuveera told Venugopal.
Raghuveera, a veteran leader of the Congress, had been serving as the state party chief since the state bifurcation in 2014.
