Apex Bank to provide Rs 275 crore loans to farmers in 2017-18

The Apex Bank will provide Rs 275 crore loans to the farmers for investment in agriculture during 2017-18, a senior government official said today.
The bank has earned profit of Rs 41.80 crore in 2016-17, which was Rs 20.14 crore more than the 2015-16, Cooperative Principal Secretary and administrator of Apex Bank Abhay Kumar said.
Addressing the 61st general meeting of the bank, he said that Rs 275 crore loan will be provided in 2017-18 for investment in agriculture.
Kumar further said that to encourage women in cooperatives, the bank has implemented Raj Sahkar Mahila Kalyan Yojna under which loan worth Rs 200 crore will be provided that will benefit 3.5 lakh women of the state.
Dividends worth Rs 8.32 crore will be distributed among the members institutions of the Apex Bank, he said.
As much as Rs 15 crore will be spent to set up financial inclusion gateway to connect Internet and mobile banking in rural areas, he added.
Kumar said Rs 43.80 crore was made available to improve capital to risk asset ratio (CRAR) in cooperative bank of Bharatpur, Dausa and Tonk districts and special package will be prepared for their strengthening, he said.
