"The government has constituted an apex body namely Education Advisory Board comprising prominent educationists representing all the three regions of the state for making recommendations for framing a suitable education policy for the state," Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said at a review meeting here.
Directing for launching a special enrolment drive for dropouts to bring them back to schools, the Deputy Chief Minister asked the Zonal Education Officers to conduct necessary awareness campaign for motivating the parents to enrol their wards.
He said government will evolve more innovative measures to improve the education set up in the state, keeping in mind the latest trends to keep pace with the contemporary world.
Reviewing school mapping assignment entrusted to Environment and Remote Sensing Department to find out the gaps, Chand said the objective of the exercise is to provide schooling facility in un-served habitations of the state.

He said a Fee Structure Committee under the Chairmanship of High Court Judge (Retd) Justice Bilal Nazki has been constituted for fixing fee structure of Private Schools.
The Committee has started working on the task assigned to it, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the J-K School Education Act is being amended to bring it at par with the Right to Education Act (2009).
