Applications for plots to set up individual units of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) at industrial parks has doubled since the online application was introduced in October, a state government official said today.
The West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation (WBSIDC) has so far allotted 30 plots for industrial parks and estates scheduled to set up MSME units since October last, the officer at the department said adding that the figure was actually double of what it was in the three months' span, last year.
"In the past three months, there has been a great rise in the number of applications for plots to set up MSME units and we are expecting it to go up to 120 within a year," the official told PTI.
The 30 plots alloted by the WBSIDC are mostly in places like Bolpur, Ambari Falakata and Behrampore, he added.
The process of allotting plots online was initiated by state government since October 31 last year.
