The appointments of a former judge and ex IAS officer as members in Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) have been cancelled by the Centre as they failed to take over their job.
Justice Mihir Kumar Jha, who had been a judge in Patna High Court, and G Sudhir were in December last year appointed as members in CAT's Patna and Ernakulam bench respectively.
Consequent to his not joining the post, President has approved to treat the appointment officer to Justice Jha as cancelled, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.
In an identical order, it also cancelled the appointment offer made to G Sudhir.
The CAT is entrusted with dealing service matters of government employees.
