However, nobody was injured in the incident.
"The arch installed at the Airport Junction to welcome IFFIdelegates collapsed on a stationary bus in afternoon. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident. However, the bus waiting for passengers got damaged," a police official said.
The incident occurred at around 12.45 pm when the metal- designed structure, covering both sides of national highway 17-B, came down crashing.
The incident caused a traffic jam near airport as it took nearly 30 minutes for the fire personnel and police to clear the debris.
"We have been time and again saying that there is a massive corruption in renders awarded for IFFI 2016 by the ESG (Entertainment Society of Goa) vice-chairman Damodar Naik. He should be arrested immediately as the tender was cleared by ESG under him," said Goa Forward spokesman Durgadas Kamat.
He demanded a detailed probe into awarding the tender to a private firm for installation of the arch.
