Traders said arrivals picked-up in the market after the government announced a series of measures to put a brake on soaring prices, including anti-hoarding operations and imposing stock limits on pulses held by licensed food processors, importers, exporters as well as large departmental retailers.
The government's decision to further import 2,000 tonnes of tur dal and 1,000 tonnes of urad dal too helped prices to decline, they said.
Gram, gramdal local and best quality came down by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,900-5,600, Rs 5,200-5,400 and Rs 5,300-5,600 per quintal respectively.
Kabli gram small variety shed Rs 50 to Rs 5,100-7,600 per quintal.
