Traders said stockists buying driven by pick up in demand from retailers against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to rise in arhar and masoor prices.
They said adequate stocks position against subdued demand kept pressure on urad and its dal prices.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety gained another Rs 100 each to Rs 7,900-8,000 and Rs 9,300-9,450 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, urad and its dal fell by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,500-7,900 and Rs 8,300-8,500 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 8,500-9,100 and Rs 8,900-9,200 per quintal.
