Marketmen said besides scarcity of ready stocks in the market following restricted arrivals from growing regions, increased demand from stockists as well as retailers, mainly led to rise in arhar prices.
However, urad prices declined by Rs 300 per quintal helped by an improvement in supplies amid slow down in demand.
Arhar and its dal dara prices spurted by Rs 500 each to end at Rs 10,500-10,900 and Rs 12,100-12,300 per quintal.
Movements in other pulse prices remained restricted due to absence of any worthwhile activity at prevailing levels.
