Arhar, urad rise on upbeat demand

Arhar and urad rose by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale market today on emergence of stockists buying following uptick in demand from retailers.
Traders said fresh buying by stockists, driven by rising demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly led to rise in arhar and urad prices.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal prices rose by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 4,150 and Rs 6,300-8,200 per quintal, respectively.
Urad and its dal chilka local also moved up by Rs 50 and Rs 100 each to Rs 4,800-6,100 and Rs 5,700-5,800 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 5,800-6,300 and Rs 6,200- 6,400 per quintal, respectively.
