Arhar, urad slide on low demand

Prices of arhar and urad fell by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on sluggish demand.

Traders said easing demand from retailers against ample stocks position on increased supplies from growing regions, mainly attributed the fall in arhar and urad prices.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety declined by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 4,150 and Rs 5,800-7,700 per quintal, respectively.

Urad its dal chilka (local) also fell by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 3,750-5,050 and Rs 4,600-4,700 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,700-5,200 and Rs 5,100-5,300 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's pulses' rates (in Rs per quintal): Urad Rs 3,750-5,050, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 4,600-4,700, Urad best Rs 4,700-5,200, Dhoya Rs 5,100-5,300, Moong Rs 4,600-5,300, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,400-5,600, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,000-6,500 and best quality Rs 6,500-6,700.

Masoor small Rs 3,300-3,450, bold Rs 3,400-3,550, Dal Masoor local Rs 3,400-3,800, best quality Rs 3,500-3,900, Malka local Rs 3,900-4,100, best Rs 4,000-4,300, Moth Rs 3,500-3,900, Arhar Rs 4,150 Dal Arhar Dara Rs 5,800-7,700.

Gram Rs 3,800-3,900, Gram dal (local) Rs 3,800-4,200, best quality Rs 4,200-4,300, Besan (35 kg), Shakti bhog Rs 1,900, Rajdhani Rs 1,900, Rajma Chitra Rs 6,000-8,000, Kabuli Gram small Rs 4,500-5,500, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 3,400-3,600, Peas white Rs 2,825-2,850 and green Rs 2,925-3,025.
