Armed robbers loot group of travellers on Jaipur-Delhi highway
Press Trust of India Jaipur An armed gang of robbers today looted cash, jewellery and mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees from a group of people who were travelling in a van on the Jaipur-Delhi national highway near Kotputali area here.
Nearly a dozen people including six women were on their way from Delhi to their village Chintoli in Viratnagar area when the robbers stopped their car in front of the van near a powerhouse in Kotputali, police said.
The robbers then forced the driver of the van to sit in their car and drove the two vehicles to a countryside deserted road in Pragpura area where they asked the passengers to surrender their cash, jewellery and mobile phones, they added.
After being let off, the victims managed to come to the Kotputali where they lodged an FIR this morning, they said, adding, the robbers did not hurt them despite having pistols and sharp edged weapons.
