Acting on a tip off, personnel from New Jalpaiguri outpost raided a house and found a pipegun, about one kg of explosive and some bomb making materials there.
Besides seizing the items, the police arrested a person identified as Birju Paswan (50) from the house in this connection, the sources said.
The police were investigating whether Paswan was linked to any extremist outfit.
