An alleged arms smuggler was held with 23 pistols and magazines in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district on Wednesday, an official said on Wednesday.
Twenty live cartridges and two silencers were also recovered from him, the official said.
Acting on a tip-off, the man, who identified himself as Prem Singh (26) and was coming from neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, was intercepted by police.
He was carrying a loaded pistol and six live cartridges in his pocket besides a bag having 22 pistols with magazines, Additional DGP (ATS & SOG) Anil Paliwal said.
He said seven cartridges were loaded in pistols.
The accused in preliminary investigation revealed that he had brought the arms from Khargone of Madhya Pradesh, the officer said.
