"The world will talk about Lance Armstrong and learn something. You see people cannot hide from themselves. That is why it is a lesson for many youngsters and athletes who are playing sport right now," the two-time Olympic and three-time world 10,000m champion said today on the sidelines of an event.

"At the end of the day, you know what happened when you cheat someone. People can hide their cheating from others but they can't hide it from themselves," added the Ethiopian legend who is the brand ambassador of the Mumbai Marathon.

Fallen cycling legend and seven-time Tour de France winner Armstrong has confessed of widespread drug use on Oprah Winfrey's talk show on television.

Amrstrong has admitted that he had used a cocktail of banned substances for over a decade and a half.

He has already been stripped of the time trial cycling bronze won in the 2000 Sydney Games by the International Olympic Committee.

The International Cycling Union has taken away the seven Tour de France titles he had won after other former teammates testified in front of the United States Anti-Doping Agency that he had taken drugs, a charge he had always denied till his recent confession to Oprah.
