Army awards winners of Army Day competition
Press Trust of India Jammu The Indian Army today awarded the winners a photography and painting competition that was organised here to mark Army Day. The theme of the competition was 'Indian Army - Symbol of Nation Building' and was organised by the Army under the aegis of Additional Director General of Public Interface (ADGPI), an army officer said. Swapnil Acharya and Balwant Singh won the first prize in the photography competition, and Rohit Gupta and Babita were winners of the painting competition. The participants had submitted their works online and received the certificates and cash prizes from the Army Headquarters through their school authorities yesterday. The results were declared last month on Army Day, the officer said.
The official said the competition was part of Operation Sadbhavana (goodwill) which is an initiative of the Army in the Jammu and Kashmir to address aspirations of people affected by terrorism.
