Army begins registration of ex-servicemen

A new online registration service for ex-servicemen of Army hailing from the district was today launched here.
The service will not only allow members to get regular update from the Army headquarters but also create a database of the member and his families through a survey.
"Army has begun the registration process for its soldiers and the process was officially started at an army canteen near the DRDA office here," an army official said.
To address other issues for ex-servicemen, the Army also intends convene a district-level lokdalat by the end of this month, he said.
As part of the survey, officials would travels in villages and town to collect information on ex-servicemen for the database.
