Army Boys meet Jharkhand in U-17 quarterfinals

Army Boys, Lucknow Cantonment, drubbed Progress Higher Secondary School, Goa, 4-0 to enter the Under-17 Boys quarterfinals from Group A in the 55th Subroto Cup football tournament at Ambedkar Stadium here today.
In another match, BSL High School (Jharkhand) beat FK Troeschina (Ukraine) 2-0 in Group to also book their quarterfinal berth.
The winners of groups A and B will clash in the first quarterfinals on October 11.
Credit must be given to the Army Boys from Lucknow for keeping their slate clean in the group stage. Even a draw against Goa would have seen the Army Boys through, while in Goa's case only a win could have put them in the quarterfinals.

It was Rakesh Sunwal who opened the account in the 40th minute and two minutes later Mohammad Ajamir added one more goal. Two more goals came through C Samararda Singh (53rd) and four minutes from close Minaketan Meitei completed the demolition work.
